A Comprehensive Review of Everything Nintendo Switch 2 Related
The Nintendo Switch was and still is a massive success, selling almost 140 million consoles and beating such greats such as the Wii, all Playstations except the second and even the Gameboy lineup. It was clearly a resurgence in Nintendo after the saddening dip in sales from the WiiU and is expected to hold a great successor. However, that successor has had nothing confirmed officially and with the Switch nearing its seventh year, people are expecting a new console.
Expect for the Switch 2 to be released next year, as that is what the majority of leakers have agreed on. It’ll apparently arrive “as early as March”, but this doesn’t match the routine of previous consoles. The Gamecube was shown to the world as the “Dolphin” in 1999, but it was released in late 2001. The Wii was unveiled as “Revolution” in 2004 at an E3, but given to the world during 2006. The WiiU was “Project Cafe” and the Nintendo Switch was the “NX”, both names revealed a year before launch. It has become apparent that the Switch 2 is most likely releasing next year or possibly later as Nintendo hasn’t leaked the one name we will get more in depth into later to the public yet. However, the current lineup of games being mostly remakes and a leaked partner showcase for the next direct shows that Nintendo is slowing down.
A research company named Omdia has observed that Nintendo has been buying 8-inch LCD screens. This is larger than the current Switch and OLED Switch screen sizes which are 6.2 in and 7 in respectively.
Many developers, including Activision, were shown the Switch 2 as early as 2022. Activision’s involvement was leaked in emails during the FTC vs Microsoft case. The email held a PDF file containing a summary of the “NG Switch”, short for the Next Generation Switch. Nintendo showed developers a souped up version of Tears of the Kingdom as one of the demos.
This last paragraph will get everything out okay. The Switch 2 is said to be backwards compatible and work with Switch 1 games. It is speculated that it will be priced at $400, but nothing is for sure. It will not have 4K resolution at least in handheld (This is confirmed), but feature improved battery and graphics. My personal speculation is that the Switch 2 will not have PS5 or Xbox Series X level graphics, but will definitely have upgraded power that may be capable of PS4 and Xbox One type stuff. It is said that it may be released early March 2025. There is no information about Nintendo’s gimmick with this console.
TLDR: Switch 2 will release in March 2025 with 8-inch LCD screens and improved hardware. Its price is speculated to be $400, will not have 4K resolution, but be backwards compatible with Switch 1.
Dome Keeper
Dome Keeper is a semi-roguelike real-time strategy game that evolved from a 72 hour game competition jam thing. Your character hits an unknown surface in a dome and has to survive against hordes of enemies while getting upgrades. Deep below are scattered resources used for upgrades, but if you spend too long down there, the monsters will get to your base when you least expect it.
The game is an immaculate experience with the art style on point. Looking at the game is a treat to any aesthetically pleased eyes. Everything comes together to immerse the player.

Resources aren’t given out for free and each wave brings tougher and more plentiful enemies. As you dig deeper into the land, the rock you’ll mine will get harder and the amount of resources you’ll need will get higher. The player will have to balance out mining and fighting upgrades perfectly to make ends meet, but it’s not a roguelike without random useful items that show up every now and then. The most important of these random items you’ll find in the depths will be the gadgets. Gadgets give a variety of extra upgrades that open more skill trees. This is what spices gameplay up and makes each run feel different.
The game, however, is still a little repetitive. There are new unlockables each time you beat a run (by getting this special cube and blowing up things) and different environments, but it still isn’t something that you could binge. Each run can be a little long and losing can be discouraging as you won’t get any rewards to change up the game.
Overall, it’s a really fun game that’s still getting updates. It’s nothing too earth-shattering, but does every game really need to be that way? It’s only on Steam though so that sucks. At least it runs on Mac.
Pepper Grinder
Pepper Grinder is an upcoming 2D platformer all about drilling. It has a dark-ish artstyle mixed with a cheerful protagonist. From what I’ve seen of the demo, It’s very linear, but not bad. On the side is a cool little scrapbook mechanic. By the time this article gets out, it'll be released. That’s all.

Top Five Demos
Games are getting expensive and we don’t have enough money to get all of them. Game demos are not a recent development, but are now utilized even better with digital demos. Usually, you can find game demos in a store kiosk, but in the past, a bunch would be plopped on a demo disk compilation. There were also demos included in other games, but now everything is digital. Anyways, here are the most definitive demos of all time (of which I’ve played) (also i forgot deltarune so dont haras me thank)
5, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
Some may praise the remake of the cult classic Mario Vs. Donkey Kong GBA, but I think it’s a little pricey. Anyway, the demo is bad. It all stems from how it is literally just the first part of the game. As you may see further down the line, this type of demo can be good, but only if the game gets pretty fun. The beginning of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong is slow and uneventful. The best part of the entire thing is the ending video, which shows actually fun Mario Vs. Donkey Kong gameplay. The first “world” only has four levels to choose from, cutting out three normal ones and a boss stage. All these levels are essentially tutorials that have little to no thought in orienting them in a challenging way. A level with the minis is shown off and that’s it!

4, Splatoon Testfire
For every new Splatoon game, there has been a demo called “the testfire” to go along with it. These let players fondle the new weapons and get a hold of the new controls and environments. The “demos” are mainly ways of experimenting on their fanbase like lab rats, but I’m not complaining… except that the demos only last until the game is released. Plus, they never had any story mode, just the online functionality. I really think that having a short story mode as a demo might attract new players, but I still like the testfires.
3, Dome Romantik
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/df6227_ee1e43cbb9b549d093828be88b74bfca~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_300,h_168,al_c,q_80,enc_auto/df6227_ee1e43cbb9b549d093828be88b74bfca~mv2.jpg)
Dome Romantik was the game jam name that Dome Keeper (a previously discussed game) went by. It was plopped on Steam as a demo to garner interest while the developers worked on expanding it. Compared to the actual release, the demo had downgraded visuals, no difficulty except hard mode and was endless. Some may argue that it doesn’t really represent Dome Keeper, but I think it was a good way to entice people for the full release. Since the game was released, the demo was taken off Steam, but is still on Itch.io, so go play it NOW.
2, Mario Wonder
This demo was only at select stores that sold the game, and I may have played it more than once. Other than that, the demo is exquisite. Rather than lazily slap the first part of the game onto a demo, Mario Wonder carefully selects different levels from different parts of the world. While these pre-selected levels are some of the most bland, they still give the player a good perspective of how GREAT THIS GAME ISGKTEJSHGUOIJTSUIG!!!!! !! !! !
1, Miitopia
Miitopia is a simple RPG involving Miis you create. Both the Switch and 3DS versions have a free demo and it is THE BEST (except for nintendo nuking the 3ds eshop). A giant portion of the game is available in the demo which gives the player a vast perspective of what the gameplay is like. It ends just before the first major boss which gives the player a good taste of the game, but still makes them want more. Everything about the demo is pure perfection and the progress is saved if you buy the full game. (The following statement is designed to be a joke and not to be taken literally. Do not pirate games. Piracy is theft.) Since no 3DS games are being manufactured and Nintendo erased the 3DS eShop, just homebrew your 3DS and get the full game. Ok fin

Nintendo Direct Leak Real?????????????
Some bozo made a pathetic attempt at a Nintendo Direct leak that is obviously fake. It has garnered quite some popularity because it looks kind of real, but these games are never coming to switch. The image is below, but knowing that Nintendo is working on the Switch 2 or whatever, there is NEVER going to be this much stuff.

For one, there are NINE Nintendo titles coming to the Switch, some are as follows: a Wind Waker HD port, Animal Crossing New Leaf HD (??), Metroid Prime 4, a new Hyrule Warriors and a Mario Galaxy collection announced a month after Mario Day, seems legit.
My reasoning: no
Bobl battle demo :\
Space Worm! (Just kidding, I haven't finished it for at least a couple months, but some other DW guys made another game you could review)
Amogus?
