Reviewing Nintendo Switch Game Prices

gustavo

I’m sorry for doing another multi-game review, but it’s more fun for me and probably easier to read. Anyways, it seems that all the Nintendo Switch games are just $60 now. This is wildly different from other games. Pizza Tower is $20. Cuphead is $20. WarioWare Get it Together is $50. WarioWare Get it Together also has 2 hours of story mode and a lackluster bundle of side modes. Don’t get me wrong, Nintendo games are great and are made with care and effort, but indie devs and studios are doing great work and asking for minimal pay. I’m going to go around the Nintendo game selection and analyze the games and their price. Yahoo

Pikmin 3 Deluxe

This was when the debate about Nintendo game prices really started. Pikmin 3 is a really good strategy and fighting game and is definitely worth some money. Pikmin 3 on the WiiU started at $60, but was reduced down to $20 later on (According to my sources). Now, for some reason, it has been increased back to $60 even though it was a release title for the WiiU and had minimal changes from the original. You see, that Deluxe is merely because it is optimized for switch and has some fetch quest side modes with other characters. Good enough addition, but still way too expensive. Plus, with the release of Pikmin 4, Pikmin 3 Deluxe has been left in the dust. I think that the price should be around the $30-$50 range mainly because it lives in the shadow of its brother, Pikmin 4, but it’s still a good game with extra content added.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

This is another WiiU port at $60, but I think it’s okay. Mario Kart 8 is a finely tuned and finely polished Mario Kart game and provides hours of fun content. The only real addition is the battle mode, which is really cool. Unlike Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8 was made late into the WiiU’s life and has much more graphical achievements that outclasses Pikmin 3. Definitely with the money.

WarioWare Get it Together

I love WarioWare, but this wasn’t the greatest in the series. A $50 game, but certainly not worth that much. If you aren’t familiar with it, the WarioWare series is a collection of microgames that shoot at the player quickly, so you gotta think fast and do the objective. Get it Together introduces different characters with different abilities, which is cool, but it results in the levels being very simple and linear. The story mode is a mere 2 hours and the extra game modes don’t deliver great stuff. Couple that with the lack of actual minigames and it isn’t the greatest game. Not only that, but the new WarioWare game, WarioWare Move It, is coming out soon. With all this taken into account, WarioWare Get it Together should probably be around $20-$40 and that’s being generous.

Splatoon 2

A good addition to the Splatoon series, but pretty similar to the original Splatoon. I would have said that it was good at $60, but with Splatoon 3, there is little reason to even get this game. I don’t know where to price it, so shplinkle.

Pikmin/Pikmin 2/Pikmin 1+2

Pikmin and Pikmin 2 by themselves are $30, but if you buy the Pikmin 1+2 pack, they come as $50. It comes off as a little expensive as they are Gamecube games, but they’re worth the money. Good games, worth money, next.

Arms

This is a weird situation. Arms is a unique new fighting game that has some really cool mechanics such as arms. All the character designs are so creative and it just oozes charm. However, that’s it. All you can really do is fight. There’s also some limited sports modes, but it’s a WarioWare situation where there is limited content that doesn’t compel the player to keep coming back. I would decrease its $60 price, but only to $50 because it’s still a good polished game with decent content.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Okay, so this is the WiiU Mario platformer with an extra entirely new 3D Mario game called Bowser’s Fury. If you’re somebody who likes replaying games and 100%ing games, worth every cent. Even if you don’t care for replaying or 100%ing, this is still a fabulous package, though Mario Odyssey is still better
